New Masters of Science in Management for Interior Architecture had a booth at Build Boston this past week. The interdisciplinary curriculum combines business and marketing coursework that provides design professionals with enhanced technological and creative skills that can differentiate them in a competitive industry. Emphasis is placed on basic concentration competence, research and theory, relevant technology, leadership and information literacy. Social responsibility and sustainability are incorporated throughout the curriculum. Through design studios, lectures and coursework, students will have the ability to identify and implement sustainable practices and universal design standards in the built environment.Graduates will also be prepared to utilize cutting-edge technologies to solve today’s complex design challenges. Much of the work produced in the program makes use of sophisticated computer programs including Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM), which employs parametric modeling software to increase productivity in design and construction. Issues of Digital Manufacturing, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), and the Electronic Workflow will be discussed as well.
