Over spring break, fourteen Mount Ida College students traveled to Phenix City, Alabama to work with Habitat For Humanity. After much effort in fundraising, attending weekly group meetings and completing 20 volunteer hours, the group traveled south for a very eventful week. While in Alabama, the group worked on a total of four homes, putting up walls, windows, doors, and working on the roof. In conjunction with six other groups on site, the majority of the exterior of all of the homes was completed by the end of the week. After meeting one of the homeowners and her children, the trip became much more real for the students and other participants. With warm weather and sites to see, the group also enjoyed their time off the job site before returning to school. Three
Three Interior Design seniors---Marie Bury, Lauren Kirkness and Dana Barsoian were part of the group. THANK YOU for all of your work and contributions to this wonderful organization!
