Student Day at FM Global

Friday April 17th a group of Interior Architecture students visited 

FM Global's Research campus.

Many schools participated, University of Rhode Island, University of New Haven, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, University of Hartford.  We were able to tour the four main laboratories where FM Global scientists and engineers work on Fire Technology, Natural Hazards, Electrical Hazards, and Hydraulics.

Hardhats and safety glasses! 

This demonstration was analyzing the impact of wind blown debris in a hurricane.

We were able to observe an earthquake simulation on the shake table. 

 The students were able to view a warehouse fire, simulated  wind damage, inventory breakage due to natural disasters such as an earthquake, and a dust explosion seen below!
