On October 23, 2014 the Interior Design program participated in the IIDANE fashion show. This year our industry partner was Marilyn Raynard with MDC Wall coverings – the team built the collection out of their wall coverings!
What a challenge!
This was such a group effort but special thanks goes out to Professor Alyssa DiMarzo who was the faculty advisor and Ani Moushigian & Christina Gedick who were the graduate coordinators for this endeavor. Also we are incredibly grateful to Earl Battle Professor of Fashion Design, who advised and helped create the students vision.
The theme of the fashion show this year was "Adaptation... How will you respond?" The team chose to have four models, two "cavemen" who would transform into today modern chic fashion icons and two "serpents" the symbolized their transformation and "shed" items of clothing for the other models to change into on stage.
The concept....
"Serpents: Symbolic of temptation, rebirth, and duel expression of good / evil, bringing chaos and driving change throughout history.
Man: Driven by temptation, causing a natural and constant procession of evolution and adaption.
Temptations Persist, Evolution Continues, Adaption is Required, History Repeats.
How will we respond? Embrace. Celebrate. Repeat."
