Philips Lighting- Learning Center Trip

Students from all stages of the interior design program got the chance to visit the Philips Lighting Center of North America, this last Monday. The trip was an especially great opportunity for the sophomore Lighting Design class.
The Learning Center is in Somerset, New Jersey, so the long bus ride quickly became a bonding experience for students. Below are a few pictures, but please keep in mind we boarded the bus at 6AM! :-)

When we first arrived we learned about the perception of light and color, preformed a number of discovery activities, experienced lighting in different applications, and looked at LED lights. Everything we talked about and learned throughout the day will help with our luminaire projects in our Lighting Design class.

Thank you to Dan Blitzer for giving us a great tour of Philips Lighting and enlightening us about the numerous lights we got the chance to view while there!
