Congratulations to MSM_ Interior Architecture students, Victoria Heydari and Meghan Valyou,
They earned a #1 ranking (tie) for two of the weeks, they participated in an online
business simulation (Glo-Bus), and ended the semester in the top 100!
Professor Burke stated “Each decision period in GLO-BUS represents a year. The first set of decisions co-managers make is for Year 6. As soon as they get to the screens, they view/print a copy of the Year 5 Company Operations Reports and review their company’s operating results. We start in year 6 to make sure we have some competitive data and results to base our decisions on.
The students ran their company for 15 years (one week equaled one year). The co-managers made decisions for each period relating to the design and performance of the camera line (10 decisions), production operations and worker compensation (15 decisions), pricing and marketing (16 decisions), corporate social responsibility and citizenship (up to 6 decisions), and the financing of company operations (4 decisions). In addition, there is accounting and cost data to examine, import duties and exchange rate fluctuations to consider, and shareholder expectations to satisfy.”

On average, there were 2,500 teams from 150 colleges/universities participating in the simulation world-wide.
